The Praying Mantis is named for their "hands" held together resembling a person praying. These fascinating insects are formidable predator, they have a triangular head poised on a long neck - they can turn their head 180 degrees to scan their surroundings. I took this photo of this mantis on my Boston fern - I always heard they were supposed to bring good luck
